We had a hard time finding money in the early days.

The first investment home I purchased only cost $8,000. In Shannon's words, it was $8,000 of crap. 

I began looking for money.

But-- 

🤷‍♂️ Who wants to lend money to a guy who's been homeless and doesn't have a long job history?

🤷‍♂️ Who wants to lend money to a guy who doesn't have a solid credit rating, someone who doesn't own any property to hold as collateral? 

🤷‍♂️ Who wants to loan money on an $8,000 house in the middle of the hood? 

I'm just being honest about where I was, because my long, hard journey has made it short and easy for you!

After talking to 20+ lenders, I began going back and asking them, "Will you give me some advice? I'm not re-asking you to loan me money... but it would help me if you told me why you turned me down, so I can adapt my sales pitch for the future."

Most of them not only agreed to see me, they offered awesome advice. And, they helped me refine my presentation. 

I still struck out...

... a lot.

I finally dialed it in-- on the 70th try.

I learned that some of your suspicions are probably true. 

The banks aren't for the "little guy" (i.e., anyone with less than HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars liquid), and there ARE a lot of hurdles.

Unless you look at ALL the options on the table.
